Liver RNA was extracted from wild-type C57BL/6 mice (WT) and homozygous hCRP mice (HO), then cDNA libraries were synthesized by reverse transcription, followed by PCR with mouse or human Crp primers (n=2 males and 2 females for each group, 14 weeks old). Mouse Crp mRNA (222 bp) was detectable only in wild-type C57BL/6 mice. Human CRP mRNA (176 bp) was detectable only in homozygous hCRP mice but not in wild-type mice.

Serum was collected from wild-type C57BL/6 mice (WT) and homozygous hCRP knockin mice (HO) (n=2 males and 2 females for each group, 14 weeks old). Protein expression level of CRP was analyzed by ELISA. Mouse CRP was exclusively detectable in wild-type C57BL/6 mice. Human CRP was exclusively detectable in homozygous hCRP knockin mice.
